FIELD DEMO 2016

NDGM celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day last week. This year's theme is "Imitating Mary as Witness to Jesus' Love and Mercy". Elementary School Day (Preschool to Grade 6)  is scheduled on September 7 while High School Day (Grade 7 to 10) is September 8.

The September 7 Event started with Notre Dame procession. The procession is from the Main Gymnasium going around outside the school's vicinity. We didn't join in the procession to give the little girl some time to rest.

After the procession is the assembly of the ES students to assigned classrooms per section to prepare them for the presentation. Then, it was followed by the Elementary School Mass Demonstration at the Main Gymnasium.

YAKUs ELEMENTARY GRADUATION

The invitation...

Their invitation's logo is usually made yearly by the Best Poster Making Grade Six pupil. I'm so amazed by this kind of talent which truly deserves an appreciation.

Logo rational: The two hands signify God's hands as he holds the world with love. The persons and the Notre Dame seal in the middle mean the youth of Notre Dame are formed together and united as one as they spread God's love and mercy to the world. The little hearts that are drawn on the person's chests and Jesus' cross in the middle convey that we should have a heart like His and that we inspire others to have one too.

YAKUs RECOLLECTION

We always make sure that we make time whenever parents are invited in a recollection for a surprise interaction with our child. The facilitator was same as last year. The Dialogic Letter was given in advance to the adviser through our son. Then, each child's letter was given to the parents on the second day of recollection.

Here are some of our photos:

This was taken during parents conference with facilitator. We're seated quite far from the altar...

SCHOOLING UPDATES

We noticed that the two boys are having difficulty on their schedule for the past two weeks now. So, hubby and I agreed to change their school service batch at dismissal time.

Since last Monday, they're on the first batch trip instead of the second batch. The new schedule allows them now in having more time to study, rest and sleep. Little girl remains on the second batch trip and Ate is with her until dismissal time. The poor little girl is the last one to arrive home :(.

With the help of everyone, we are hoping that the new schedule will work out on all of us for the entire school year.

This photo was taken just a minute ago when I asked them to give me one good photo shot for my blog post :)...

OPENING OF CLASSES 2015

I’m a hands-on mom to my kids schooling. I always make it a point that my kids are properly guided before I leave them on their own. I filed a leave from work to accompany and give them instructions on first day of school. Another reason is to take care of the last minute school requirements and ensure that everything is in order.

This school year, my little girl is in the afternoon class since it's the only available time open for Grade One pupils. The two Kuya’s are still both whole day in school. Kuya and little girl’s dismissal time is an hour late than Yaku.

Actually, I’m a little anxious on their schedule but we have to work it out. I’m entrusting my little girl to her two Kuyas. My little girl’s Ate will just be dropping her off to school. They will be on their own at dismissal time. I'm relying on them and trusting they can manage themselves and look after the little girl until they get home.

KINDER CULMINATING ACTIVITY - MOVING UP TO A NEW BEGINNING

Our mini invitation...cute!

For the girls attire, they wore the same skirt they've used on their last Field Demo. And this time it's matched with white plain t-shirt/blouse and colorful plastic leis. I actually agree that they take into consideration the attire cost cutting (clap!clap!clap!).

KUYAs ELEMENTARY GRADUATION

We received the invitation a day before the graduation. There's also assigned seat numbers for each parents/guests.

KUYAs AGAPE

The invitation is for Elementary School Baccalaureate Mass, Academic/Special Awards and a program presentation of each section in Grade Six.

The word "AGAPE" is so new to me. As explained by the hosts, AGAPE is a biblical word which means LOVE. This is the reason why the program's theme is: Thank, Remember and Share. Agape is the graduates tribute to all their loved-ones and everyone who become part of their Elementary Life.

KUYAs RECOLLECTION

All parents are invited to come in school on the second day of recollection for a conference with the recollection facilitator. Prior to this, they have requested all parents to invest time and effort and be emotionally connected in writing a Dialogic Letter to our child. This has been submitted to the Pastoral Office prior to recollection.

Kuya also has a letter for us. The recollection facilitator told us that the students also made an effort in writing a letter for parents. We were touched while reading his letter. It is afterwards followed by a surprise interaction with our child.

FIELD DEMO 2014

Last Tuesday was their Field Demonstration Day themed as " Mary As Evangelizer: Gentle Heart, Daring Love". The theme was in relation to the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the arrival of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in the Philippines.

Apologies for the blurry images, I have only captured this using my camera phone...

NDGM DAY 2013

NDGMs 50th founding anniversary was celebrated last Sept 11. We were in school the whole day to watch the PreSchool and Grade School presentations. My little one performed in the morning while my two boys performed in the afternoon. One of the highlights of the celebration is the presentation of Marian floats prepared and decorated by each Grade Levels which will later be part of the afternoon parade. The Grade Six float won 1st place because of their creative concept of putting a miniature village on the float.

NDGM FIELD DEMO 2012

NDGM celebrated their 49th Foundation Day last week. One of the highlights of the said event was the Elementary Field Demonstration held last Thursday.

Prior to this, take a peek on our preparation for the costumes and accessories needed for their dance presentation. Last year was more manageable because the class advisers helped in preparing the accessories unlike now, we had to do it by ourselves. We're actually busy preparing all these last week.

YAKUs FIRST COMMUNION

(This is an overdue post.)

Yaku's class was the first batch to celebrate the First Communion. Each class section has its own schedule to observe the solemnity of the celebration. Each student has a designated task and role in the mass. Yaku was assigned for flower offering. The certificates were distributed and group pictures were taken after the mass.

KUYAs CLASS PICTURE

I was surprised when I saw Kuya in their class picture. We were actually in Boracay when this picture was taken. He told me that his classmates were teasing him as a ghost because they knew that he was not physically there at the time it was taken. I told him to tell them that it was magic :).

I'm glad that their school now considers editing pictures for cases like this in order to complete the whole class. I'm so amazed in this "photoshop magic". Lol!

Here is the class picture. You can see him added on the left side of the picture.

GRADE 2 FIRST COMMUNION

My eldest celebrated his First Communion Day recently. The First Communion Mass was scheduled by class or section and took place at the school chapel. To observe the solemnity of the celebration, parents and guests are not allowed to take pictures during the mass. Only the school's official photographer is allowed to take pictures. Each pupil will be given a remembrance photo taken during the mass celebration.

Their school chaplain discussed in his homily the meaning and responsibility of partaking the holy eucharist. My son was one of the readers and I'm so proud of him because he was able to deliver it properly. The Holy Communion Certificates were distributed thereafter. Parents were also given time to take pictures inside the chapel.

We just re-enacted some of the activities for picture taking purposes.
