SINGING BAHAY KUBO

Bahay Kubo (Nipa Hut) is a popular tagalog folk song. This is a song describing a small nipa hut surrounded by a variety of vegetables.

My 29 months old toddler sang the song completely by herself. I recorded it using my camera phone but mistakenly captured it sideways :(. Watch her video below...

Here are the lyrics of the song...

Tagalog lyrics of Bahay Kubo:
Bahay kubo, kahit munti
ang halaman doon ay sari-sari
Singkamas at talong
Sigarilyas at mani
Sitaw, bataw, patani
Kundol, patola, upo't kalabasa
At saka meron pang
Labanos, mustasa
Sibuyas, kamatis
Bawang at luya
Sa paligid ligid
Ay puno ng linga

English translation of Bahay Kubo:
My nipa hut, although it’s small
The plants are diverse
Turnips and eggplants,
Winged beans and peanuts,
String beans, edible pots, lima beans,
White melon, gourd, white pumpkin and squash,
And still there are more, radish, mustard,
Onions, tomatoes, garlic and ginger,
All around are lush sesame plants.
